Application of constitutive models in European codes to RC–FRC

TLDR
In this article, the structural behavior of RC-FRC elements with steel fibers and with plastic fibers is compared and a numerical simulation is performed to evaluate their differences in terms of the structural behaviour predicted and measured in an experimental program.

Flexural fatigue mechanism of steel-SFRC composite deck slabs subjected to hogging moments

TL;DR: In this article , the authors investigated the flexural fatigue mechanism of the steel-steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) composite deck slab under hogging moments and found that the fatigue failure of the composite slab was governed by the fracture of rebar in tension.

Partial safety factor for the residual flexural strength of FRC precast concrete segments

TL;DR: In this article, a structural reliability analysis carried out to calibrate partial safety factors for flexural residual strength (f R ) was presented, which could be used in the design of future precast FRC tunnel linings.
Journal ArticleDOI

Statistical analysis of an experimental database on residual flexural strengths of fiber reinforced concretes: <scp>Performance‐based</scp> equations

TL;DR: In this article , a database including the results of the flexural residual strength obtained from different experimental programs combined with the results from previous studies has been gathered and analyzed to obtain general correlations and trends providing additional information about the influence of the fibers in FRC behavior, these meant to serve for initial design stages.

Luong test to evaluate residual shear behavior of FRC

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple Luong test was adapted for fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) under shear, and an experimental program was performed on FRC mixes including steel and macro-synthetic fibers in different contents.

Analysis of crack formation and crack growth in concrete by means of fracture mechanics and finite elements

TL;DR: In this article, fracture mechanics is introduced into finite element analysis by means of a model where stresses are assumed to act across a crack as long as it is narrowly opened, which may be regarded as a way of expressing the energy adsorption in the energy balance approach.

Crack band theory for fracture of concrete

TL;DR: In this article, a fracture theory for a heterogenous aggregate material which exhibits a gradual strain-softening due to microcracking and contains aggregate pieces that are not necessarily small compared to structural dimensions is developed.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present guidance on prestressed concrete design in normal weight concrete where prestress is by fully bonded tendons, advice is given on the required numbers of tendons and the prestressing force and the limit states.

Q1. What have the authors contributed in "Application of constitutive models in european codes to rc-frc" ?

In this study, these models are compared and a numerical simulation is performed to evaluate their differences in terms of the structural behavior predicted and measured in an experimental program of RC-FRC elements. The predictions provided by the models fit satisfactorily the experimental results for elements with steel fibers and with plastic fibers
