TLDR
In this paper, a new formulation and method are presented for evaluating bandgap, optical transitions and optical constants from the reflectance data for films deposited onto a non-absorbing substrate, which can be used to evaluate the optical properties of the films.

Liquid petroleum gas sensor based on SnO2/Pd composite films deposited on Si/SiO2 substrates

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors synthesized SnO 2 /Pd composite films by d.c. sputtering of a target followed by thermal evaporation of a thin layer of Pd on top of it.

Ni-doped vertically aligned zinc oxide nanorods prepared by hybrid wet chemical route

TL;DR: Ni-doped zinc oxide (Ni:ZnO) nanorods were synthesized by incorporating nickel in vertically aligned ZnO nanorod as discussed by the authors, and the optical band gap decreased with increasing amount of Ni incorporation and the origin of the photoluminescence peak at ∼400nm was related to the defect levels introduced due to substitution of Ni 2+ in the Zn 2+ site with annealing.

Structural, optical and electrical properties of indium doped CdS0.9Se0.1 thin films

TL;DR: In this article, structural, optical and electrical properties of chemically prepared CdS 0.9 Se 0.1 thin films have been studied and reported in this paper, where the indium doping concentration up to 0.05 mol% increases the sample crystallinity.

CuInTe2 thin films synthesized by graphite box annealing of In/Cu/Te stacked elemental layers

TL;DR: In this article, a graphite box annealing of In/Cu/Te stacked elemental layers (SEL) deposited by evaporation onto glass substrates was used to synthesize polycrystalline CuInTe 2 films.

Visible- light- active nitrogen doped tio2 nanoparticles prepared by sol- gel acid catalyzed reaction

TL;DR: In this paper, the nitrogen doped TiO2 nanocatalyst and pure TiO 2 were compared for degradation of crystal violet dye in visible light irradiation, showing that the nitrogen-doped nano-graph showed superior photocatalytic efficiency towards the dye.

Optical and electrical properties of SnO2 thin films in relation to their stoichiometric deviation and their crystalline structure

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that the importance of any stoichiometric deviation in relation to the production of conductive layers is discussed; the minimum value ϱ min of the resistivity is about 5 × 10 -3 ohms cm.
