TLDR
This paper evaluates spectral efficiency performance of the 3GPP Evolved UTRA (E-UTRA) downlink with baseline settings and finds that the adapMIMO scheme has similar performance as SFC in the macrocellular case, it produces about 30% spectral efficiency gain in the microcell scenario.

LTE Capacity Compared to the Shannon Bound

TL;DR: An adjusted Shannon capacity formula is introduced, where it is shown that the bandwidth efficiency can be calculated based on system parameters, while the SNR efficiency is extracted from detailed link level studies.

Dynamic packet scheduling performance in UTRA Long Term Evolution downlink

TL;DR: It is shown that by dividing the packet scheduler into a time domain and a frequency domain and utilizing different algorithms in both domains, the throughput fairness between users can be effectively controlled.

On the way towards fourth-generation mobile: 3GPP LTE and LTE-advanced

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that LTE performance does not fulfil the technical requirements established by ITU-R to classify one radio access technology as a member of the IMT-Advanced family of standards.

Self-Optimization of Coverage and Capacity in LTE using Adaptive Antenna Systems

TL;DR: This thesis work provides a detailed analysis of the optimization space of antenna parameters and compares different tilt techniques as well as discusses vertical sectorization as a novel capacity optimization approach.

Frequency Domain Scheduling for OFDMA with Limited and Noisy Channel Feedback

TL;DR: This study analyzes the downlink OFDMA system level performance for three different channel quality indicator (CQI) reporting schemes and finds that a simple threshold-based CQI scheme provides an attractive trade-off between downlink systemlevel performance and uplink CqI signaling overhead, as compared to using a best-M scheme.
