Mechanisms of amygdala facilitated cortico-striatal plasticity
TL;DR: Evidence that BLA synapses have an N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor ratio higher than that of cortical synapses onto the same striatal neurons allows BLA inputs to facilitate the induction of heterosynaptic long term potentiation in vitro and points towards a new mechanism of amygdala-facilitated learning.

Some Experimental Observations on the Neuroanatomical Substrates of Learned Adaptive Behaviors
TL;DR: Continued responses to insignificant stimuli or, conversely, a loss of responses to stimuli that are of potential significance for the survival of the individual or the perpetuation of the species is a generally acceptable if not terribly informative definition of maladaptive behavior.

Neurobiology of Learning and Memory
TL;DR: Using the well characterized appetitive olfactory conditioning of the proboscis extension reflex (PER), it is shown that DA impairs appetitive memory consolidation and found that blocking DA receptors enhances appetitiveMemory.

Striato-pallidal influence on food intake, body weight and locomotor activity
S. Dua-Sharma,S. Dua-Sharma,Edwin R. Smutz,Edwin R. Smutz,K. N. Sharma,K. N. Sharma,Harry L. Jacobs,Harry L. Jacobs +7 more
TL;DR: A differential striato-pallidal regulation of food and water intake, body weight and activity of adult male and female albino rats is suggested.

Statistical Principles in Experimental Design
TL;DR: In this article, the authors introduce the principles of estimation and inference: means and variance, means and variations, and means and variance of estimators and inferors, and the analysis of factorial experiments having repeated measures on the same element.

Statistical Principles in Experimental Design

Dopamine (3-hydroxytyramine) and brain function
TL;DR: A good case can be made for the concept that the physiological activity of the brain dopamine is quite different from that of brain norepinephrine, although there are as yet no experiments to positively show that dopamine is a true neuro-transmitter substance in the brain.
