Unique first-forbidden β-decay rates for neutron-rich nickel isotopes in stellar environment

TL;DR: In this article, the total β-decay half-lives and the unique first-forbidden (U1F) βdecay rates for a number of neutron-rich nickel isotopes, 72−78Ni, were calculated using the proton-neutron quasi-particle random phase approximation (pn-QRPA) theory in stellar environment for the first time.

Beta-decay half-lives of neutron rich Cu and Ni isotopes produced by thermal fission of235U and239Pu

TL;DR: In this article, the half-lives of very neutron rich isotopes of Ni and Cu have been measured by means of the Lohengrin spectrometer, where the isotopes are produced in very asymmetric thermal fission of 235U and 239Pu at the I.L.

The? + decay of the new isotope86Mo and the first observation of86m Nb

TL;DR: In this article, a decay scheme of86Mo is proposed for the same combinations of projectiles and targets, and a new β-decaying isomer86m istgNb was observed with a half life of 56.3±8.3 s.

Nuclear Properties of Astatine Isotopes

TL;DR: The structure of nuclides as well as their decay properties are discussed in many books and monographs, see for instance [1 to 14]. Brief descriptions are also found in two volumes of this handbook, which should be consulted for further explanations of special notations used for instance in decay schemes as mentioned in this paper.

The decay of the new isotope 180 Yb and the search for the r -Process path to 180m Ta

TL;DR: In this article, the decay of the new isotope180Yb was observed and its half-life determined to be 2.4(5) min. Based on the measured β-,γ- and X-ray data, ther-process production of180mTa and the role of a possible isomer180mLu in this context are discussed.

Nuclear masses and deformations

TL;DR: In this article, a semi-empirical theory of nuclear masses and deformations is presented, where the potential energy of a nucleus, considered as a function of N, Z and the nuclear shape, is given by the liquid-drop model, modified by a shell correction.

On the Fermi Theory of β -Radioactivity. II. The "Forbidden" Spectra

TL;DR: In this article, Fermi's original "polar vector" form of the theory was extended to first and second forbidden transitions for arbitrarily charged nuclei and the final results were given in the form of a "correction factor" $C, by which the allowed distribution must be multiplied to give a forbidden spectrum.

Conserved Current Hypothesis and the Beta Decay of RaE

TL;DR: In this paper, it is shown that the conserved current theory is consistent with Bi/sup 210/ beta decay by comparing theoretical predictions with experimental data obtained from electron polarization and spectrum measurements.

Gross Theory of Nuclear β-Decay

TL;DR: In this paper, a theory for the gross properties of the nuclear a-decay is developed, where summations over final states are replaced by integrations, and the average of the squared absolute value of a nuclear matrix element times the final level density is investigated instead of individual matrix elements.

Strength-function phenomena in electron-capture beta decay

TL;DR: In this article, the authors derived approximate beta strength functions from measurements of the electroncapture beta feed to the high-lying excited states in about 40 neutron-deficient nuclei.
