Elucidating the mass transfer mechanism of CrVI adsorption by encapsulated chitosan-carbon nanotubes-iron beads in packed-bed columns
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors evaluated the CrVI breakthrough behaviors of a continuous-flow column packed with composite chitosan-MWCNTs-iron beads under various operating conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preparation and adsorption behavior of new hollow-like spherical sludge chars for methylene blue
TL;DR: In this article, a pyrolytic process was successfully used to prepare hollow-like spherical sludge chars (HSC), and the column adsorption behavior showed that the advertisersorption capacity and rate constant of HSC for methylene blue reached 186.4 mg g−1 and 0.232 mL min−1 mg−1.

Magnetic Zeolite as Arsenic Sorbent
TL;DR: In this paper, a natural zeolite (clinoptinolite type) was modified by iron oxides and a novel magnetic zonolite was produced for the removal of arsenic from water streams and its capacity was above the average capacity of sorbents studied in literature.
Journal ArticleDOI
Valorization of olive stone as adsorbent of chromium(VI): comparison between laboratory- and pilot-scale fixed-bed columns
M. Ángeles Martín-Lara,Mª Carmen Trujillo Miranda,A. Ronda Gálvez,A. Pérez Muñoz,M. Calero de Hoces +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of scaling in the biosorption of chromium(VI) onto olive stone in two different fixed-bed columns was analyzed, and the results revealed a better operation for lower flow rates, higher bed heights and lower inlet concentrations of metal.
Journal ArticleDOI
Water decontamination containing nitrate using biosorption with Moringa oleifera in dynamic mode.
Rebecca Manesco Paixão,Isabela Maria Reck,Raquel Guttierres Gomes,Rosângela Bergamasco,Marcelo Fernandes Vieira,Angélica Marquetotti Salcedo Vieira +5 more
TL;DR: The batch assays showed that nitrate biosorption is enhanced under experimental conditions of pH 3 and a biosorbent mass of 0.05 g, and the results obtained from the statistical parameters showed that lesser pH, lesser feed flow rate, and higher initial concentration will result in an increase of the maximum capacity of the bed.

Application of gas adsorption kinetics. I. A theoretical model for respirator cartridge service life.
Young Hee Yoon,James H. Nelson +1 more
TL;DR: A new theoretical model addressing the adsorption and breakthrough of contaminant vapors or gases with respect to solid sorbents is developed, less complicated and easier to apply to practical industrial hygiene problems than theories developed previously.
