Removal of salicylic acid and carbamazepine from aqueous solution with Y-zeolites modified with extraframework transition metal and surfactant cations: Equilibrium and fixed-bed adsorption

TL;DR: A synthetic zeolite (Na + -Y; Si/Al ∼ 2.8) was modified through incorporation of both a transition metal (Co 2+, Ni 2+ or Cu 2+ ) and a surfactant (cetylpyridinium; CPY + ) to develop adsorbents with tailored selectivity and uptake capacity for pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs) present in water as mentioned in this paper.

Boron Removal from Aqueous Solutions by Adsorption on Waste Sepiolite and Activated Waste Sepiolite Using Full Factorial Design

TL;DR: In this article, boron removal from aqueous solution by adsorption was investigated and 23 full factorial design was applied to the results obtained from the study on parameters.

Treatment of cyanide effluents by oxidation and adsorption in batch and column studies.

TL;DR: It was found that the oxidative removal of cyanide by air/oxygen was very limited although it tended to improve in the presence of pure oxygen and catalyst such as activated carbon (AC) and copper sulphate.

A comparative study of the adsorption of humic acid, fulvic acid and phenol onto Bacillus subtilis and activated sludge.

TL;DR: Kinetic studies on the adsorption of humic acid, fulvic acid and phenol onto B. subtilis cells and activated sludge biomass pointed to a rapid uptake of the substances, with an equilibrium time of about 30 min, suggesting a first-order kinetic phenomenon.

Biosorption of lead using immobilized Aeromonas hydrophila biomass in up flow column system: Factorial design for process optimization

TL;DR: Sorption-desorption studies revealed that polysulfone immobilized biomass could reused up to 16 cycles and bed was completely exhaust after 33 cycles and the result predicted by optimization plots was 88.27% which is close to the experimental data i.e. 85.38%.

Application of gas adsorption kinetics. I. A theoretical model for respirator cartridge service life.

TL;DR: A new theoretical model addressing the adsorption and breakthrough of contaminant vapors or gases with respect to solid sorbents is developed, less complicated and easier to apply to practical industrial hygiene problems than theories developed previously.
