Chemically modified natural cotton fiber: a low-cost biosorbent for the removal of the Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Pb(II) from natural water
Álisson Gomes Paulino,Adriana Jesus da Cunha,Rení Ventura da Silva Alfaya,Antonio Alberto da Silva Alfaya +3 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the removal of heavy metals from aqueous solution by natural cotton fiber modified with citric acid (NCFCA) is reported, using both batch and continuous systems.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sorption reaction mechanism of some hazardous radionuclides from mixed waste by impregnated crown ether onto polymeric resin.
TL;DR: A novel impregnated polymeric resin was practically tested as adsorbent material for removal of some hazardous radionuclides from radioactive liquid waste and predicted that, pseudo-second-order is applicable; the sorption is controlled by particle diffusion mechanism and the process is chemisorption.

Biosorption of Cr(VI) from aqueous solution using A. hydrophila in up-flow column: optimization of process variables.
TL;DR: An attempt has been made to investigate the individual as well as cumulative effect of the process variables and to optimize the process conditions for the maximum removal of chromium from water by two-level two-factor full-factorial central composite design with the help of Minitab ® version 15 statistical software.

Applications and characteristics of Fe-Mn binary oxides for Sb(V) removal in textile wastewater: Selective adsorption and the fixed-bed column study.
Kunlun Yang,Yuanli Liu,Yizhou Li,Zhen Cao,Chuchen Zhou,Zheni Wang,Xurui Zhou,Shams Ali Baig,Xinhua Xu +8 more
TL;DR: The Sb(V) removal byFMBO3 from real textile wastewater can simultaneously improve the removal efficiency, stabilize pH and prevent the increase of iron concentration as compared to the traditional coagulation, further demonstrating the high practical applicability of FMBO3.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of breakthrough curves of Pb and Zn sorption from binary solutions on natural clinoptilolite
TL;DR: In this article, the removal of Pb and Zn ions from binary aqueous solutions on a fixed bed of natural clinoptilolite has been examined and the Thomas model has provided satisfied agreement with experimental points and enables calculation of exhaustion capacity which is in agreement with experimentally obtained capacities for all examined experiments.
