TLDR
In this paper, the authors developed landscape-based ecologically scaled landscape indices (ELSI) and modeled species spatial distribution across three spatial scales (landscape-level, element-level and local habitat-level) and found that predator species view landscape fragmentation at different spatial scales and demonstrate strong interspecific differences in their response to elements of the landscape.

Ecological impacts of early 21st century agricultural change in Europe: a review. J Environ Manag

TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide an overview of the ecological status of agricultural systems across the European Union in the light of recent policy changes, concluding that despite many adjustments to agricultural policy, intensification of production in some regions and concurrent abandonment in others remain the major threat to the ecology of agro-ecosystems impairing the state of soil, water and air and reducing biological diversity in agricultural landscapes.

Ecological impacts of early 21st century agricultural change in Europe - a review.

TL;DR: This paper provides an overview of the ecological status of agricultural systems across the European Union in the light of recent policy changes, and builds on the previous review of 2001 devoted to the impacts of agricultural intensification in Western Europe.

Big city life: carnivores in urban environments

TL;DR: In a time of massive environmental change across the globe, the continuing encroachment of urbanization upon wilderness areas is substantially reducing the availability of natural habitats for many species; therefore, understanding the biology of any taxon that is able to adapt to and exploit anthropogenically disturbed systems must aid us in both controlling and developing suitable conservation measures for the future of such species.

Creation of forest edges has a global impact on forest vertebrates

TL;DR: A global dataset on species responses to fragmentation and a statistical approach for quantifying edge impacts in heterogeneous landscapes are assembled to quantify edge-determined changes in abundance of 1,673 vertebrate species and highlight the pervasive ability of forest edges to restructure ecological communities on a global scale.
Journal ArticleDOI

Responses of ‘resistant’ vertebrates to habitat loss and fragmentation: the importance of niche breadth and range boundaries

TL;DR: The authors used occupancy data collected on 32 species of vertebrates (16 mammals and 16 amphibians) in an agricultural landscape of Indiana, USA, to compare hypotheses that focus on different causal mechanisms underlying interspecific variation in responses to habitat.

Model Selection and Multimodel Inference: A Practical Information-Theoretic Approach

TL;DR: The second edition of this book is unique in that it focuses on methods for making formal statistical inference from all the models in an a priori set (Multi-Model Inference).

Applied Logistic Regression

TL;DR: Hosmer and Lemeshow as discussed by the authors provide an accessible introduction to the logistic regression model while incorporating advances of the last decade, including a variety of software packages for the analysis of data sets.

Applied Logistic Regression.

TL;DR: Applied Logistic Regression, Third Edition provides an easily accessible introduction to the logistic regression model and highlights the power of this model by examining the relationship between a dichotomous outcome and a set of covariables.

Applied Linear Statistical Models

TL;DR: Applied Linear Statistical Models 5e as discussed by the authors is the leading authoritative text and reference on statistical modeling, which includes brief introductory and review material, and then proceeds through regression and modeling for the first half, and through ANOVA and Experimental Design in the second half.
