Carbon sequestration and annual increase of carbon stock in a mangrove forest

TLDR
In this article, the authors show that carbon stock is lower in the tropical mangrove forest than in the terrestrial tropical forest and their annual increase exhibits faster turn over than the tropical forest.
About
This article is published in Atmospheric Environment. The article was published on 2011-09-01. It has received 170 citations till now. The article focuses on the topics: Carbon sequestration & Biomass.

Community structure and ecosystem carbon stock dynamics along a chronosequence of mangrove plantations in China

TL;DR: Biomass increment and SOC accumulation are unsynchronized with mangrove plantation development, and monospecific mangroves may not be able to significantly accelerate SOC sequestration in the early plantation stage.

Tree above-ground biomass allometries for carbon stocks estimation in the Caribbean mangroves in Colombia

TL;DR: The equations generated in this study can be considered as an alternative for the assessment of carbon stocks in AGB of mangrove forests in Colombia; as other available AGB allometric models do not discriminate mangroves, despite being particular ecosystems.

Soil carbon storage in dominant species of mangrove forest of Sarawak, Malaysia

TL;DR: In this article, the soil carbon storage of dominant plant species of Awat-Awat Mangrove Forest, Sarawak, Malaysia was assessed using a peat auger at a soil depth of 0 to 50 cm.

Symbolic regression-based allometric model development of a mangrove forest LAI using structural variables and digital hemispherical photography

TL;DR: In this article , the authors developed allometric equations to estimate LAI using a combination of non-destructive, optical measurements through digital hemispherical photographs (DHP), and genetic programming-based Symbolic Regression (SR) for a mangrove forest in the BhitarKanika Wildlife Sanctuary (BWS), located along the Eastern coast of India.

Seasonal and spatial variations in diversity and abundance of bacterial laccase-like genes in sediments of a subtropical mangrove ecosystem

TL;DR: P is proposed as a regulatory and limiting element for microbial SOM degradation through the laccases-initiated enzymatic reaction in coastal mangrove ecosystems, indicating a significant impact of other environmental factors on the diversity, distribution and the abundance of bacterial laccase-like genes which were underestimated in the previous research.

Microphysics of Clouds and Precipitation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on one major aspect of cloud microphysics, which involves the processes that lead to the formation of individual cloud and precipitation particles, and provide an account of the major characteristics of atmospheric aerosol particles.

Soil and plant analysis.
