TLDR
It is indicated that non-baumannii Acinetobacter species were common pathogens, that the most predominant cause of invasive Acetobacter infection was intravascular catheter-related infection, and that administration of broad-spectrum antibiotics targeting AcinetOBacter species might be deferrable in a certain situation.

Drug resistance and virulence traits of Acinetobacter baumannii from Turkey and chicken raw meat

TL;DR: High rate of antibiotic non-susceptibility even against last-line resorts in poultry products is a concern and suggest that animals play a potential role as reservoirs of transmission of MDR A. baumannii.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Natural Polysaccharide Matrix-Based Selenium Nanocomposites on Phytophthora cactorum and Rhizospheric Microorganisms.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of new chemically synthesized selenium (Se) nanocomposites (NCs) based on natural polysaccharide matrices arabinogalactan (AG), starch (ST), and kappa-carrageenan (CAR) on the viability of phytopathogen Phytophthora cactorum, rhizospheric bacteria, and potato productivity in the field experiment were studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genomic Characterization of Clinical Extensively Drug-Resistant Acinetobacter pittii Isolates.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used multilocus sequence typing with the Pasteur scheme to characterize clinical isolates of Carbinem-resistant Acinetobacter pittii (CRAP) from a tertiary hospital in Northeast Thailand.
Journal ArticleDOI

An Acinetobacter non-baumannii Population Study: Antimicrobial Resistance Genes (ARGs).

TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative study of the resistomes of A. non-baumannii pathogens based on information available in published articles and genome sequences was performed. But the current information about antibiotic resistance genes in the different A.non-baumANNii species has not yet been studied as a whole.

A new method of classifying prognostic comorbidity in longitudinal studies: Development and validation☆

TL;DR: The method of classifying comorbidity provides a simple, readily applicable and valid method of estimating risk of death fromComorbid disease for use in longitudinal studies and further work in larger populations is still required to refine the approach.

Definitions for Sepsis and Organ Failure and Guidelines for the Use of Innovative Therapies in Sepsis

TL;DR: An American College of Chest Physicians/Society of Critical Care Medicine Consensus Conference was held in Northbrook in August 1991 with the goal of agreeing on a set of definitions that could be applied to patients with sepsis and its sequelae as mentioned in this paper.

CDC definitions for nosocomial infections, 1988

TL;DR: The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) developed a new set of definitions for surveillance of nosocomial infections as mentioned in this paper, which combine specific clinical findings with results of laboratory and other tests that include recent advances in diagnostic technology.
Journal ArticleDOI

Two simple media for the demonstration of pyocyanin and fluorescin.

TL;DR: Two simple media for the enhancement of pigment production by certain organisms of the Pseudomonas genus are described and the results of comparative studies employing these media, certain synthetic broths, and some commonly used dehydrated preparations are reported.
