Wastewater sludge conditioning by fly ash
Sike Wang,T. Viraraghavan +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP), equilibrium leach test (ELT), and long-term leaching test (LTLT) were used to investigate the leachability of heavy metals.
Journal ArticleDOI
The crystallization of arsenate-contaminated iron hydroxide solids at high pH
TL;DR: In this paper, the rate of transformation of colloidal iron hydroxide and arsenate into crystalline products was measured at 60 and 70°C. The rate was described by either a solid-state reaction equation for powdered compacts or a zero-order reaction controlled by desorption.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effectiveness of the stabilization/solidification process on the leachability and toxicity of the tannery sludge chromium.
TL;DR: A stabilization/solidification process by using cement was applied to tannery sludge in order to find a safer way of landfilling this waste, and results showed that chromium retention decreases as the relative amount of cement and water increases, probably due to additional chromium provided by cement and increased in the porosity of the mixtures.

Remediation Technologies for Contaminated Sites
TL;DR: Many different insitu or ex-situ remediation technologies have been developed throughout the years to mitigate the risk imposed by soil contamination, such as contaminated soil removal, contaminant removal, containment, stabilization/solidification, transformation, or different combinations of these mechanisms as mentioned in this paper.
