TLDR
Foremilk and hindmilk contained comparable amounts of cobalamin and haptocorrin, but marked changes were observed during 9 mo of lactation, which suggests an impaired cobalamina status and indicates that nutrition from only mother's milk may not be sufficient for the supply ofcobalamin from this age.

Guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of cobalamin and folate disorders

TL;DR: Definitive cut‐off points to define clinical and subclinical deficiency states are not possible, given the variety of methodologies used and technical issues, and local reference ranges should be established.

Scientific opinion on the essential composition of infant and follow-on formulae.

TL;DR: The Panel emphasises that maximum amounts should be interpreted not as target values but rather as upper limits of a range which should not be exceeded, as nutrients which are not used or stored have to be excreted and this may put a burden on the infant’s metabolism.

Biomarkers and Algorithms for the Diagnosis of Vitamin B12 Deficiency

TL;DR: The usefulness and limitations of current biomarkers of B 12 status in newborn screening, infant and adult diagnostics, the algorithms utilized to diagnose B12 deficiency and unusual findings of vitamin B12 status in various human disorders are discussed.

Overview of Nutrients in Human Milk.

TL;DR: A review of current knowledge covers trends in nutrient concentrations over the course of lactation and describes the influence of maternal intake, status, supplementation, and other factors on human milk concentrations of each nutrient.

Optimal duration of exclusive breastfeeding

TL;DR: Neither the trials nor the observational studies suggest that infants who continue to be exclusively breastfed for six months show deficits in weight or length gain, although larger sample sizes would be required to rule out modest differences in risk of undernutrition.

Dietary Reference Intakes for Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic Acid, Biotin, and Choline

TL;DR: The second in a series that presents a comprehensive set of reference values for nutrient intakes for healthy U.S and Canadian populations is presented in this article, which considers evidence concerning the prevention of disease and developmental disorders along with more traditional evidence of sufficient nutrient intake; and examines data about choline, a food component that has not been considered essential in the human diet.

Age- and gender-specific reference intervals for total homocysteine and methylmalonic acid in plasma before and after vitamin supplementation.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present reference intervals for total homocysteine and methylmalonic acid in plasma based on samples from 126 women (ages 20-85 years, median 49 years) and 109 men (age 20-84 years, Median 50 years).
