TLDR
The third edition of the second edition as discussed by the authors was published in 1964 and contains basic test data for eleven new surface configurations, including some of the very compact ceramic matrices, in both the English and the Systeme International (SI) system of units.
Abstract
This third edition is an update of the second edition published in 1964. New data and more modern theoretical solutions for flow in the simple geometries are included, although this edition does not differ radically from the second edition. It contains basic test data for eleven new surface configurations, including some of the very compact ceramic matrices. Al dimensions are given in both the English and the Systeme International (SI) system of units.

A review on roughness geometry used in solar air heaters

TL;DR: In this paper, an attempt has been made to review on element geometries used as artificial roughness in solar air heaters in order to improve the heat transfer capability of solar air heater ducts.
Journal ArticleDOI

The thermodynamic design of heat and mass transfer processes and devices

TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide a comprehensive, up-to-date review of second-daw analyses published in the heat and mass transfer literature during the last decade, focusing on the fundamental mechanisms responsible for the generation of entropy in heat and fluid flow.
Journal ArticleDOI

3D numerical simulation of flow and conjugate heat transfer through a pore scale model of high porosity open cell metal foam

TL;DR: In this paper, a 3D numerical simulation methodology for the flow and heat transfer at the pore scale level of high porosity open cell metal foam is presented, which is discretised using a tetrahedral volume mesh for both void and solid phases.

Experimental investigation on heat transfer and frictional characteristics of spirally corrugated tubes in turbulent flow at different Prandtl numbers

TL;DR: In this article, a comprehensive experimental study on a family of 10 corrugated tubes which were manufactured by cold rolling is presented, where a unique dimensionless parameter named severity index ( φ = h 2 / pd ) can be used to establish roughness influence on flow.

Performance comparison of some tube inserts

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared the thermal and hydraulic performance of twisted tape and wire coil inserts in both laminar and turbulent regions, and found that twisted tape outperformed wire coil.
