TLDR
The third edition of the second edition as discussed by the authors was published in 1964 and contains basic test data for eleven new surface configurations, including some of the very compact ceramic matrices, in both the English and the Systeme International (SI) system of units.
Abstract
This third edition is an update of the second edition published in 1964. New data and more modern theoretical solutions for flow in the simple geometries are included, although this edition does not differ radically from the second edition. It contains basic test data for eleven new surface configurations, including some of the very compact ceramic matrices. Al dimensions are given in both the English and the Systeme International (SI) system of units.

Mathematical modeling and experimental study of heat transfer in a low-duty air-cooled heat exchanger

TL;DR: In this article, a semi-empirical correlation for the Nusselt number on the water-side in the transitional and turbulent range when the Reynolds number is higher than 2300 was determined.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of an array of plates aligned at angles to the flow in a rectangular duct

TL;DR: In this article, the heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of an array of plates, aligned at various angles of 20-35° to the direction of air flow in a rectangular, straight duct, have been investigated experimentally in the range of Reynolds numbers between 350 and 5000.
Journal ArticleDOI

An experimental investigation on the airside performance of fin-and-tube heat exchangers having sinusoidal wave fins

TL;DR: In this article, the heat transfer and friction characteristics of the heat exchangers having sinusoidal wave fins were experimentally investigated, and the effect of waffle configuration (herringbone or sinusoid) on heat transfer coefficients and friction factors was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

The impact of heat exchanger fouling on the optimum operation and maintenance of the Stirling engine

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of heat exchanger fouling on the performance of the Stirling engine in combined heat and power (CHP) application is investigated, and a cost model is developed for the engine to translate changes in performance into economy in CHP operation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigation on convective heat transfer characteristics of single phase liquid flow in multi-port micro-channel tubes

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of different boundary conditions on the simultaneous pressure drop and heat transfer characteristics were studied, and the results showed that the Nusselt numbers decrease with the increase of inlet temperature and heat flux.
