TLDR
The third edition of the second edition as discussed by the authors was published in 1964 and contains basic test data for eleven new surface configurations, including some of the very compact ceramic matrices, in both the English and the Systeme International (SI) system of units.
Abstract
This third edition is an update of the second edition published in 1964. New data and more modern theoretical solutions for flow in the simple geometries are included, although this edition does not differ radically from the second edition. It contains basic test data for eleven new surface configurations, including some of the very compact ceramic matrices. Al dimensions are given in both the English and the Systeme International (SI) system of units.

Experimental and sensitivity analysis of a rotary air preheater for the flue gas heat recovery

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of dimensionless parameters on the effectiveness of rotary heat exchangers was investigated, and numerical results were obtained by solving continuity, momentum and energy equations, and a two-step, predictor-corrector procedure was used.

Direct Submount Cooling of High-Power LEDs

TL;DR: In this paper, the two-phase thermofluid characteristics of a dielectric liquid, FC-72, flowing in an asymmetrically heated chip-scale microgap channel, 10 mm wide × 37 mm long, with channel heights varying from 110 μm to 500 μm and channel wall heat fluxes of 200 kW/m2.

Moving-Boundary Heat Exchanger Models With Variable Outlet Phase

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors introduce a condenser/receiver model and an evaporator/accumulator model developed in the moving-boundary framework, which use a novel extension of physical variable definitions to account for variations in refrigerant exit phase.

Thermal and hydraulic analysis of a brazed aluminum evaporator

TL;DR: In this paper, an analytical/computer model was presented to predict the performance of a brazed aluminum evaporator operating under dehumidifying conditions, and the program was used to design an R-404A evaporator, for which a prototype was built and tested.

Fin efficiency and mechanisms of heat exchange through fins in multi-stream plate-fin heat exchangers: development and application of a rating algorithm

TL;DR: In this paper, the basic heat balance equations for separating surface and passage in a multi-stream plate-fin heat exchanger are derived based on a formalism proposed earlier, and an algorithm is developed for rating heat exchangers based on the equations, and incorporated into an existing computer code called STACK.
