TLDR
The third edition of the second edition as discussed by the authors was published in 1964 and contains basic test data for eleven new surface configurations, including some of the very compact ceramic matrices, in both the English and the Systeme International (SI) system of units.
Abstract
This third edition is an update of the second edition published in 1964. New data and more modern theoretical solutions for flow in the simple geometries are included, although this edition does not differ radically from the second edition. It contains basic test data for eleven new surface configurations, including some of the very compact ceramic matrices. Al dimensions are given in both the English and the Systeme International (SI) system of units.

A general variational principle for thermal insulation system design

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a new method for thermal insulation system optimization based on minimizing thermodynamic irreversibility, which consists of externally controlling the variation of heat leak with temperature across the insulation.

Enhancement of natural convection heat transfer from an array of discrete heat sources

TL;DR: In this article, a single-phase, natural convection heat transfer data have been obtained for an array of highly-finned, discrete heat sources mounted to one wall of a cavity filled with a dielectric liquid (FC-77).

The combined effects of longitudinal heat conduction, flow nonuniformity and temperature nonuniformity in crossflow plate-fin heat exchangers

TL;DR: In this paper, an analysis of a crossflow plate-fin compact heat exchanger, accounting for the combined effects of two-dimensional longitudinal heat conduction through the exchanger wall and non-uniform inlet fluid flow and temperature distribution is carried out using a finite element method.

Analysis of complex assemblies of heat exchangers

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a new and general method of calculating the total effectiveness and intermediate temperatures of assemblies of heat exchangers, which may consist of associations of any types of Heat Exchanger.

Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop Characteristics in Straight Microchannel of Printed Circuit Heat Exchangers

TL;DR: Empirical correlations have been developed for the heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop factor as functions of the Reynolds number for heat transfer rate and heat transfer performance in microchannel printed circuit heat exchanger.
