Determination of organochlorine pesticides in agricultural soil with special reference to γ-HCH degradation by Pseudomonas strains
TLDR
Two Pseudomonas strains isolated from agricultural soil were found to possess gamma-hexachlorocyclohexane degrading ability when the isolates were grown in a mineral salt medium containing gamma-HCH as the sole source of carbon and a number of metabolites were produced and detected by the gas chromatography.About:

Biochemistry of Microbial Degradation of Hexachlorocyclohexane and Prospects for Bioremediation
Rup Lal,Gunjan Pandey,Pooja Sharma,Kirti Kumari,Shweta Malhotra,Rinku Pandey,Vishakha Raina,Hans-Peter E. Kohler,Christof Holliger,Colin J. Jackson,John G. Oakeshott +10 more
TL;DR: It is important to develop a better understanding of the biochemistries of the LinA and LinB variants and to use that knowledge to build better variants, because field trials of some bioremediation strategies based on the Lin pathway have yielded promising results but would not yet achieve economic levels of remediation.

Determination of pesticides and their degradation products in soil: critical review and comparison of methods
Vicente Andreu,Yolanda Picó +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the most relevant analytical methods for determining pesticides and their transformation products in soils are discussed and critically evaluated, such as liquid extraction methods (pressurized liquid extraction or microwave assisted extraction) and solid phase based methods (headspace solid-phase microextraction, solid phase micro-extraction or matrix-solid phase dispersion).

Biodegradation of hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) by microorganisms.
TL;DR: HCH biodegradation in soil has been reported at both low and high (saturated) moisture contents, and soil texture and organic matter appear to influence degradation presumably by sorption mechanisms and impact on moisture retention, bacterial growth and pH.
