In this article, the authors determined the coexistence region near the morphotropic phase change of the PZT, where the tetragonal and the rhombohedral phases coexist.Abstract:
By means of X-ray diffraction, the authors have determined directly the coexistence region near the morphotropic phase change of the PZT, where the tetragonal and the rhombohedral phases coexist. In this region the lattice parameters of each phase do not change, and the relative amounts obey the leverage rule. The authors show that the morphotropic phase change may be considered as a first-order transition as a function of the temperature and the chemical potential (and not the concentration, as often supposed).read more

Structure and high-piezoelectricity in lead oxide solid solutions
TL;DR: A review of the recent advances in the understanding of piezoelectricity in lead oxide solid solutions is presented in this paper, giving special attention to the structural aspects, and it has now become clear that the very high electromechanical response in these materials is directly related to the existence of low symmetry monoclinic phases.

Effect of Composition on the Electromechanical Properties of (1‐x)Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3−XPbTiO3 Ceramics
TL;DR: In this article, the 1-x lead magnesium niobate-lead titanate ((1-x)PMN-xPT) of different compositions has been prepared by the columbite precursor method, and the dielectric constant and electromechanical coupling factor dependencies on the bias field are evaluated.

Influence of short-range and long-range order on the evolution of the morphotropic phase boundary in Pb ( Zr 1 − x Ti x ) O 3
TL;DR: The local structures of rhombohedral, monoclinic, and tetragonal phases across the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) of Pb(Zr{sub 1-x}Ti{sub x})O{sub 3} are discussed in terms of the progression from short-range to long-range and back to shortrange structural order as discussed by the authors.
