TLDR
The effects of ligands on the structure of rabbit muscle pyruvate kinase were studied by small angle neutron scattering, and results indicate a "contraction" and "expansion" of the enzyme when it transforms between its active and inactive forms.

Clostridium difficile toxins a and b are cation-dependent udp-glucose hydrolases with differing catalytic activities

TL;DR: It is concluded that C. difficile toxins A and B are cation-dependent UDP-glucose hydrolases that differ significantly in their catalytic activities, a finding that may have important implications in understanding their different cytotoxic effects.

Allosteric Mechanism of Pyruvate Kinase from Leishmania mexicana Uses a Rock and Lock Model

TL;DR: The results presented here illustrate how conformational changes coupled with effector binding correlate with loss of flexibility and increase in thermal stability providing a general mechanism for allosteric control.

Structural and functional linkages between subunit interfaces in mammalian pyruvate kinase.

TL;DR: The results identify the structural linkages between the Y and Z interfaces in regulating the interconversion of conformational states of rabbit M1-PK.

Enhanced Diffusion of Catalytically Active Enzymes.

TL;DR: It is pointed out that the existing multimeric forms of enzymes or isozymes may cause artifacts in measurements and that the conformational changes upon substrate binding are usually not sufficient to give rise to a diffusion enhancement greater than 30% so more rigorous experiments and a more comprehensive theory are urgently needed to quantitatively validate and describe the enhanced enzyme diffusion.

Global conformational changes in allosteric proteins. A study of Escherichia coli cAMP receptor protein and muscle pyruvate kinase.

TL;DR: For two systems, namely Escherichia coli cAMP receptor protein and muscle pyruvate kinase, the results show that negative and positive cooperativity are correlated with sequential and concerted modes of structural change, respectively.

Small-angle scattering. Information content and error analysis

TL;DR: In this article, an analysis of the small-angle scattering problem based on Shannon sampling is presented, which leads to an accurate assessment of the information contained in a given data set and rigorous estimates of the errors inherent in the parameters derived therefrom.

Glucose-induced conformational change in yeast hexokinase

TL;DR: It is found that the hydrophobic effect alone favors the active conformation of hexokinase in the presence and absence of sugar.
