TLDR
In this article, a broad range of degrees of crosslinking, from 1.7 up to 74% of reacted hydroxyl groups, was achieved, and the variation of the thermal and mechanical properties of PVA with the crosslink density show an initial decrease due to the diminution of the crystallinity of the system, caused by the cross-linking.

Effects of precursor topology on polymer networks simulated with molecular dynamics

Shimiao Zhang, +1 more
- 05 May 2017 -
TL;DR: In this paper, three sets of precursors with different molecular architectures are designed such that they would form identical networks at the limit of perfect conversion, and little difference is observed between the resulting networks in typical properties including the radial distribution function, macroscopic statistics of network connectivity, and glass transition behaviors.

Fabrication and physicochemical features study of crosslinked PVA/FGO nanocomposite films

TL;DR: In this paper, a crosslinked PVA/functionalized graphene oxide (FGO) films were prepared, using glutaraldehyde (GA) as crosslinking agent, and the morphology of NCs films were studied and definite images were perceived.

Facile fabrication of flexible, large-sized organic nanoporous membrane by electrospinning technique based on microporous polymer nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this article, a crosslinked PVA/nanoparticles (CPVANPs) membrane, composed of polyvinyl akohol (PVA) and high content of AHCPNPs (80 w%), was prepared via electrospinning technology and post-crosslinking of PVA chain segment by p-phenyldiisocyanate.

Effect of the morphology of hydrophilic polymeric matrices on the diffusion and release of water soluble drugs

TL;DR: In this article, drug release mechanisms from, and diffusion processes in hydrophilic crosslinked polymeric systems were investigated in two macromolecular states: in the glassy and rubbery states during the early part of countercurrent water diffusion, and in the rubbery state after thermodynamic equilibrium between the network and the surrounding dissolution medium (water) was attained.
