TLDR
Treatment of Friend leukemia cells with dimethylsulfoxide or hexamethylenbisacetamide, which induced erythroid differentiation, resulted in enhancement of fluorescence polarization of diphenylhexatriene in not only plasma membranes, but also in intracellular membranes.

Flow cytometry's contribution to the measurement of cell functions

TL;DR: The technique can be used to determine cell viability, intracellular calcium and pH, membrane potential, enzyme activities, membrane fluidity and endocytosis, and many more applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

The influence of microtubule integrity on plasma membrane fluidity in L929 cells.

TL;DR: It is concluded that the microtubule integrity contributed to the high plasma membrane lipidic order, but less than other factors, like the lipid composition and the cholesterol content.

Use of fluorescence anisotropy determinations for indicating the physiological status of hybridoma cell cultures.

TL;DR: The evolution of lipid compartment fluidity during culture of hybridoma cells was studied by fluorescence polarization measurements and suggest that fluidity parameters could be used to follow the behaviour of hybridomas cell cultures.

Protein Measurement with the Folin Phenol Reagent

TL;DR: Procedures are described for measuring protein in solution or after precipitation with acids or other agents, and for the determination of as little as 0.2 gamma of protein.

Tissue fractionation studies. 6. Intracellular distribution patterns of enzymes in rat-liver tissue

TL;DR: The results are shown to favour the ferryl ion structure, or an isomer of this structure, for the higher oxidation state, and theHigher oxidation state may provisionally be named ferrylmyoglobin.

A microspectrophotometric method for the determination of cytochrome oxidase.

TL;DR: A microadaptation enables the measurement of the cytochrome oxidase content of as little as 4 y (wet weight) of an active tissue such as heart.
