TLDR
The model was further used to optimise the parameters to maximise the percentage Cr-removal to more than 98% and shows a close fit between the experimental results and the model predictions.

Chromium removal by combining the magnetic properties of iron oxide with adsorption properties of carbon nanotubes

TL;DR: The results show that the adsorptions of Cr(III) on the composites is strongly dependent on contact time, agitation speed and pH, in the batch mode; and on flow rate and the bed thickness in the fixed bed mode.

Organic aerogels from the polycondensation of resorcinol with formaldehyde

TL;DR: In this paper, the polycondensation of resorcinol with formaldehyde under alkaline conditions results in the formation of surface functionalized polymer "clusters" which are processed under supercritical conditions to obtain low density, organic aerogels.

Aqueous geochemistry of chromium: A review

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reviewed the aqueous geochemistry of chromium, especially with reference to the recent work of Rai et al. (report EPRI EA-4544, 1986, Report EPRi EA-5741, 1988), and showed that the chromium content of natural waters is generally low whereas rocks exhibit a wide range of Cr concentrations.

Removal of Cr(VI) from aqueous solution by adsorption onto activated carbon.

TL;DR: The adsorption of Cr(VI) was pH dependent and maximum removal was observed in the acidic pH range and was calculated from the Langmuir isotherm.
