Can Agriculture Balance Its Energy Consumption and Continue to Produce Food? A Framework for Assessing Energy Neutrality Applied to French Agriculture

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that current agriculture is structurally energy deficient to such an extent that its functional energy requirements almost equal its final produce, and that only a suppression of feed from cropland combined with very high energy recovery from agricultural residues could allow achieving energy neutrality and making agriculture a net energy source to society.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported an intensive review on solid wastes generation and management in sub-Sahara Africa using Nigeria as a case study and observed that biodegradable solid waste that can be managed via the biogas technology and landfill technology have the highest percentage fraction while the remaining fraction that comprised of non-biodegradability and combustible solid waste can bemanaged via other technology such as incineration, gasification, pyrolysis, etc.
