Effect of temperature on biochar product yield from selected lignocellulosic biomass in a pyrolysis process.
TL;DR: In this paper, a fixed-bed pyrolysis process at different temperatures (400, 500, 600, 700, and 800°C) was used to convert selected biomass (Afzelium Africana (apa wood), Milicia excels (iroko wood), and Elaeis guineensis (palm kernel shell)) to char, liquid, and gaseous products in a fixed bed reactor using pyrolynsis process.

SBA-15 supported Ni-Co bimetallic catalysts for enhanced hydrogen production during cellulose decomposition
TL;DR: In this paper, a thermogravimetric analyser coupled with a mass spectrometer (TG-MS) was used to examine the activity and selectivity for H 2 production by semi-quantitative analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
The potential for landfill leachate treatment using willows in the UK—A critical review
TL;DR: In this paper, the current status of the use of such treatment systems in the UK, their potential environmental and economic benefits and possible mechanisms for their effectiveness are discussed, as well as the potential benefits of using willows for leachate treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
The influence of supported Ni catalysts on the product gas distribution and H2 yield during cellulose pyrolysis
TL;DR: In this paper, two groups of Ni catalysts, supported on γ-Al 2 O 3 and MCM-41, respectively, were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation and tested for their influence on the pyrolytic decomposition of cellulose.

Energy production from biomass (Part 1): Overview of biomass.
TL;DR: The potential of a restored landfill site to act as a biomass source, providing fuel to supplement landfill gas-fuelled power stations, is examined, together with a comparison of the economics of power production from purpose-grown biomass versus waste-biomass.
An assessment of thermochemical conversion systems for processing biomass and refuse
A Bridgwater,G D Evans +1 more
TL;DR: A survey of gasification, pyrolysis and liquefaction technologies for biomass and waste has been conducted to identify processes suitable for opportunities in the UK and Denmark as discussed by the authors.
