Steam gasification of waste tyre: influence of process temperature on yield and product composition.

TL;DR: The experimental results show that the waste tyre gasification with steam as oxidizing agent seems promising in view of obtaining a good quality syngas, indicating that a higher temperature results in a higher syngAs production and a lower char yield, due to an enhancement of the solid-gas phase reactions with the temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Progress on upgrading methods of bio-oil: A review

TL;DR: In this article, a review of methods of bio-oil quality improvement to date are reviewed, with an emphasis on advantages and disadvantages of each method, and also some recommendations to enhance biooil combustion performance in the future.
Journal ArticleDOI

Particulate matter emissions from combustion of wood in district heating applications

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of wood fuel properties, combustion condition, and flue gas cleaning system on variation in the amount and formation of particles in typical district heating wood boilers are discussed based on the literature survey.

Association Mapping of Biomass Yield and Stem Composition in a Tetraploid Alfalfa Breeding Population

TL;DR: The authors investigated population structure and linkage disequilibrium (LD) patterns in a tetraploid alfalfa breeding population using genome-wide simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers and identified markers related to yield and cell wall composition by association mapping.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fluidizable La2O3 promoted Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalyst for steam gasification of biomass: Effect of catalyst preparation conditions

TL;DR: In this paper, a new fluidizable La2O3 promoted Ni/γ-Al 2O3 catalyst for biomass steam gasification is reported, which improves surface area, CO2 adsorption capacity, Ni reducibility and metal dispersion.

Energy production from biomass (Part 1): Overview of biomass.

TL;DR: The potential of a restored landfill site to act as a biomass source, providing fuel to supplement landfill gas-fuelled power stations, is examined, together with a comparison of the economics of power production from purpose-grown biomass versus waste-biomass.

An assessment of thermochemical conversion systems for processing biomass and refuse

A Bridgwater, +1 more
TL;DR: A survey of gasification, pyrolysis and liquefaction technologies for biomass and waste has been conducted to identify processes suitable for opportunities in the UK and Denmark as discussed by the authors.
