Kinetics of pyrolysis and combustion of spherical wood particles in a fluidized bed

TL;DR: In this paper, a known mass of wooden spheres was fed at the top of a fluidized bed reactor filled with olivine particles and fluidized with nitrogen, and the concentration of H 2, CO 2 and CH 4 was monitored with gas analyzers.

Performance of biological hydrogen production process from synthesis gas, mass transfer in batch and continuous bioreactors

TL;DR: The results showed that the agitation, gas flow rate and dilution rate were greatly influenced the hydrogen production as well as on KLa, suggesting that the estimation of KLa for the continuous bioreactor may be successful for the large-scale biological hydrogen production.

Comprehensive approach on the structure, production, processing, and application of lignin

TL;DR: Lignocellulose has three main constituents, cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin this paper, which is an abundant bioderived, aromatic, renewable feedstock and a byproduct of pulp and paper industry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Technoeconomic and policy drivers of project performance for bioenergy alternatives using biomass from beetle-killed trees

TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored the financial viability of four production pathway scenarios for the conversion of beetle-killed pine to bioenergy and bioproducts in the Rocky Mountains.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Comparison between PV farm, solar chimney and CSP tower in Lebanon: Economical study for 100 MW power plant

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared three types of technologies (Solar Chimney, CSP Tower, and PV farm) which produce electricity from the same source of energy: the Sun.

Energy production from biomass (Part 1): Overview of biomass.

TL;DR: The potential of a restored landfill site to act as a biomass source, providing fuel to supplement landfill gas-fuelled power stations, is examined, together with a comparison of the economics of power production from purpose-grown biomass versus waste-biomass.

An assessment of thermochemical conversion systems for processing biomass and refuse

A Bridgwater, +1 more
TL;DR: A survey of gasification, pyrolysis and liquefaction technologies for biomass and waste has been conducted to identify processes suitable for opportunities in the UK and Denmark as discussed by the authors.
