ENSO-Forced Variability of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation

TLDR
In this article, the authors modeled the variability of the Pacific decadal oscillation (PDO) on both interannual and decadal timescales as the sum of direct forcing by El Nino-Southern Oscillation (ENSO), the ''reemergence'' of North Pacific sea surface temperature anomalies in subsequent winters, and white noise atmospheric forcing.
Abstract
Variability of the Pacific decadal oscillation (PDO), on both interannual and decadal timescales, is well modeled as the sum of direct forcing by El Nino-Southern Oscillation (ENSO), the ''reemergence'' of North Pacific sea surface temperature anomalies in subsequent winters, and white noise atmospheric forcing. This simple model may be taken as a null hypothesis for the PDO, and may also be relevant for other climate integrators that have been previously related to the PDO.

Present-day South American climate

TL;DR: In this paper, the main features of the climate and climate variability over South America, on the basis of instrumental observations gathered during the 20th century, are described and a basic physical understanding of the mean annual cycle of the precipitation and atmospheric circulation over the continent and the adjacent oceans.

A Pacific interdecadal climate oscillation with impacts on salmon production

TL;DR: In this article, the authors identify a robust, recurring pattern of ocean-atmosphere climate variability centered over the midlatitude North Pacific basin over the past century, the amplitude of this climate pattern has varied irregularly at interannual-to-interdecadal timescales.
