Localization in the CNS of Adrenoceptors which Facilitate a Cardioinhibitory Reflex
W. Kobinger,L. Pichler +1 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that the facilitatory action of clonidine is mediated by α-adrenoceptors within the medulla oblongata in dogs, leaving the cerebellum intact (decerebrate animals).
Journal ArticleDOI
Morphometrical and microdensitometrical studies on phenylethanolamine-N-methyltransferase- and neuropeptide Y-immunoreactive nerve terminals and on glucocorticoid receptor-immunoreactive nerve cell nuclei in the paraventricular hypothalamic nucleus in adult and old male rats
Michele Zoli,L. F. Agnati,Kjell Fuxe,Isabella Zini,E. Merlo Pich,R. Grimaldi,Anders Härfstrand,Menek Goldstein,Ann-Charlotte Wikström,J-Å Gustafsson +9 more
TL;DR: The present results indicate a reduction of neuropeptide Y- and phenylethanolamine-N-methyltransferase-immunoreactive nerve terminal profiles in the parvocellular part of the paraventricular hypothalamic nucleus during aging, favouring the view that during aging the modulatory peptides may be lost, leading to a loss of neurotransmitter-like peptides.

Dopamine D2 heteroreceptor complexes and their receptor–receptor interactions in ventral striatum: novel targets for antipsychotic drugs
Kjell Fuxe,Dasiel O. Borroto-Escuela,Alexander O. Tarakanov,Wilber Romero-Fernandez,Luca Ferraro,Sergio Tanganelli,Mileidys Pérez-Alea,Michael Di Palma,Luigi F. Agnati +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors focused on the D2 heteroreceptor complexes within the ventral striatum with their receptor-receptor interactions and relevance for the treatment of schizophrenia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Drugs as tools in research on adrenoceptors
TL;DR: Until receptor structures can be defined by physicochemical methods, it might be wise to remember that receptors are fictions of the human brain, based on observations of biological effects, elicited by various substances!
