Interactive Use of Linear Retention Indices on Polar and Apolar Columns with an MS-Library for Reliable Characterization of Australian Tea Tree and Other Melaleuca sp. Oils

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated a number of different tea tree and other Melaleuca sp. oil samples, and reported qualitative and quantitative data for each sample, using a private MS library, which incorporates an interactive linear retention index filter.

Essential oils of petal, leaf and stem of the antimalarial plant Artemisia annua

TL;DR: The chemical composition of the essential oils obtained from petals, leaves and stems of the flowering stage of plants of Artemisiaannua cultivar Jwarharti was analyzed by gas chromatography mass spectrometry, and large compositional differences were detected between the three oils.

Changes in the essential oil composition of rose-scented geranium (Pelargonium graveolens L'Herit. ex Ait.) due to date of transplanting under hill conditions of Uttarakhand.

TL;DR: The results indicated that the essential oil components were affected significantly by transplanting time and the citronellol/geraniol ratio (C: G), quality determining factor was found to vary from 0.55 to 1.16 in these oils which was well within the desired limit.

A generalization of the retention index system including linear temperature programmed gas-liquid partition chromatography.

TL;DR: The equation given by Kovats for the calculation of the retention index in case of isothermal operation is transformed to a more general form to include also the case of linear temperature programmed operation and gives the same retention index for both ways of operation.

Gas‐chromatographische Charakterisierung organischer Verbindungen. Teil 1: Retentionsindices aliphatischer Halogenide, Alkohole, Aldehyde und Ketone

E. Kováts
TL;DR: In this article, a simple relation exists between the retention index of a compound on a non-polar stationary phase and its boiling point, which is defined as the ratio of the boiling point of the compound to its retention index.

The identification of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons from gas-liquid chromatography retention data

TL;DR: In this article, the identification of sesquiterpenes by gas-liquid chromatography was evaluated, and the most reproducible form of GLC data was found to be the SESQUERPene data.
