Pistacia lentiscus essential oil has repellent effect against three major insect pests of pasta

TL;DR: Evaluating the repellent activity of Pistacia lentiscus essential oil and its main chemical components by two different bioassays showed that PEO and its major constituents could represent valid and safe tools against pasta pests.
Journal ArticleDOI

Composition of Essential Oil of Sweet Flag (Acorus calamus L.) Leaves at Different Growing Phases

TL;DR: The essential oil composition of Acorus calamus (sweet flag) leaves collected in Lithuania at different growing phases was examined by GC and GC/MS as mentioned in this paper, and the content of the oil in dried sweet flag rhizomes was 1.20± 0.12% and in the leaves, depending on the vegetation phase, was from 0.56-1.01%.

Chemical and Principal-Component Analyses of the Essential Oils of Apioideae Taxa (Apiaceae) from Central Balkan

TL;DR: The volatile constituents of the essential oils of 23 taxa belonging to the Apioideae subfamily were studied in detail, finding sesquiterpene hydrocarbons to be the main group of constituents of all taxa, except for Peucedanum species, where monoterpene Hydrocarbons were identified as the main components.

A generalization of the retention index system including linear temperature programmed gas-liquid partition chromatography.

TL;DR: The equation given by Kovats for the calculation of the retention index in case of isothermal operation is transformed to a more general form to include also the case of linear temperature programmed operation and gives the same retention index for both ways of operation.

Gas‐chromatographische Charakterisierung organischer Verbindungen. Teil 1: Retentionsindices aliphatischer Halogenide, Alkohole, Aldehyde und Ketone

E. Kováts
TL;DR: In this article, a simple relation exists between the retention index of a compound on a non-polar stationary phase and its boiling point, which is defined as the ratio of the boiling point of the compound to its retention index.

The identification of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons from gas-liquid chromatography retention data

TL;DR: In this article, the identification of sesquiterpenes by gas-liquid chromatography was evaluated, and the most reproducible form of GLC data was found to be the SESQUERPene data.
