Pulsed electric field processing effects on physicochemical properties, flavor compounds and microorganisms of longan juice

TL;DR: In this article, a longan juice was processed using a pulsed electric field (PEF) treatment and compared with a conventional thermal pasteurization method, and the effect of PEF on nonenzymatic browning index and hydroxymethylfurfurol is not significantly different.

Chemical Fingerprinting of the Fragrant Volatiles of Nineteen Indian Cultivars of Cymbopogon Spreng. (Poaceae)

TL;DR: The volatile profile of existing cultivars of Cymbopogon are useful for their commercial utilization as they possess range of essential oils and aroma chemicals used in perfumery, flavour, pharmaceutical and other allied industries.

Influence of Some Environmental Factors on the Essential Oil Variability of Thymus migricus

TL;DR: Essential oil yield was fairly strongly related to the concentrations of Ca2+ and K+ and percentage of organic matter, altitude, temperature, and soil texture, and some environmental factors revealed a significant relationship between oil components and environmental factors.

Volatile constituents of callus and flower-bearing tops of Zataria multiflora Boiss. (Lamiaceae).

TL;DR: In this paper, the detailed volatile composition of callus and of flower-bearing tops used in the callus induction was investigated by GC and GC-MS spectrometry, and the typical components for the two volatile oils were p-cymene (4.85% and 5.43%), γ-terpinene (19.95% and 7.74%), thymol (34.91% and 32.35%), and carvacrol (5.95%).
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of different stabilizing operations and storage time on the composition of essential oil of thyme (Thymus officinalis L.) and rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.)

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of different stabilizing techniques on the composition of essential oil of rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.) and thyme during one year of storage is reported.

A generalization of the retention index system including linear temperature programmed gas-liquid partition chromatography.

TL;DR: The equation given by Kovats for the calculation of the retention index in case of isothermal operation is transformed to a more general form to include also the case of linear temperature programmed operation and gives the same retention index for both ways of operation.

Gas‐chromatographische Charakterisierung organischer Verbindungen. Teil 1: Retentionsindices aliphatischer Halogenide, Alkohole, Aldehyde und Ketone

E. Kováts
TL;DR: In this article, a simple relation exists between the retention index of a compound on a non-polar stationary phase and its boiling point, which is defined as the ratio of the boiling point of the compound to its retention index.
Journal ArticleDOI

The identification of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons from gas-liquid chromatography retention data

TL;DR: In this article, the identification of sesquiterpenes by gas-liquid chromatography was evaluated, and the most reproducible form of GLC data was found to be the SESQUERPene data.
