Chemical Constituents of Essential Oils from Tanacetum balsamita L. ssp. balsamitoides (Schultz-Bip.) Grierson. from Iran

TL;DR: The volatile constituents of Tanacetum balsamita L. ssp. grierson were isolated by hydrodistillation and analyzed by GC and GC/MS as mentioned in this paper, and the major constituents of the leaf oil were bornyl acetate (47.7%), pinocarvone (27.1%), camphor (9.3%), and terpinolene (5.4%).

Antifungal Activities of Essential Oils of Salvia lavandulifolia, Salvia officinalis and Salvia sclarea against Various Pathogenic Candida species

TL;DR: It was shown that antifungal activity of sage essential oils depends on their Chemical composition, and the strongest anti-fungal action possesses the essential oil of S. lavandulifolia, followed by essential oils of Salvia sclarea and S. officinalis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Essential oil composition of Helianthus annuus L. leaves and heads of two cultivated hybrids “Carlos” and “Florom 350”

TL;DR: The monoterpenes were the major compounds present in both essential oils examined and there were no significant differences between the essential oil composition of the oils obtained from the same organs of the two hybrids.
Journal ArticleDOI

Essential Oil Composition of Artemisia fragrans Willd. from Iran

TL;DR: In this article, Artemisia fragrans Willd. was collected from Tabriz in northwestern Iran and hydrodistilled to produce a light-yellow oil in a yield of 1.3%.

A generalization of the retention index system including linear temperature programmed gas-liquid partition chromatography.

TL;DR: The equation given by Kovats for the calculation of the retention index in case of isothermal operation is transformed to a more general form to include also the case of linear temperature programmed operation and gives the same retention index for both ways of operation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gas‐chromatographische Charakterisierung organischer Verbindungen. Teil 1: Retentionsindices aliphatischer Halogenide, Alkohole, Aldehyde und Ketone

E. Kováts
TL;DR: In this article, a simple relation exists between the retention index of a compound on a non-polar stationary phase and its boiling point, which is defined as the ratio of the boiling point of the compound to its retention index.
Journal ArticleDOI

The identification of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons from gas-liquid chromatography retention data

TL;DR: In this article, the identification of sesquiterpenes by gas-liquid chromatography was evaluated, and the most reproducible form of GLC data was found to be the SESQUERPene data.
