TLDR
A subject-specific FEM of a rhesus macaque mandible was constructed, loaded and validated using in vivo data from the same animal, and the relative strain magnitudes were similar to those recorded in vivo for all strain locations.

Biting mechanics and niche separation in a specialized clade of primate seed predators.

TL;DR: It is found that pitheciines have higher biting leverage than Callicebus and are generally more resistant to masticatory strain, and feeding biomechanics in sympatric Pithecia and Chiropotes are consistent with data on food structural properties and observations of dietary niche separation, with the former being well-suited for the regular molar crushing of hard seeds and the latter better adapted for breaching hard fruits.

Evolution, Constraint, and Optimality in Primate Feeding Systems

TL;DR: Evolutionary biomechanical studies of primate feeding systems have benefited from deployment of techniques for measurement of food material properties, digital collections of morphological and experimental data, comparative analyses of the effects of phylogeny, size, and shape, and computational modeling of bone function.

Ultra-High-Field Diffusion Tensor Imaging Identifies Discrete Patterns of Concussive Injury in the Rodent Brain

TL;DR: Evidence is provided that UHF-DTI combined with NODDI can detect concussions of variable intensities, which has significant implications for the diagnosis of concussion in humans.

The elastic and ultimate properties of compact bone tissue

TL;DR: The use of a tranversely isotropic model is tested for the elastic behavior of bovine and human bone and the five independent constants of this model are determined.
