TLDR
A subject-specific FEM of a rhesus macaque mandible was constructed, loaded and validated using in vivo data from the same animal, and the relative strain magnitudes were similar to those recorded in vivo for all strain locations.

Biomechanical implications of cortical elastic properties of the macaque mandible.

TL;DR: Results showed regional variations in the elastic properties of macaque mandibular cortical bone that have both similarities and differences with that of humans and baboons.

What Does Musculoskeletal Mechanics Tell Us About Evolution of Form and Function in Vertebrates

TL;DR: Mechanical analysis of the skeleton may be used to determine the function of extinct organisms but also higher level questions such as niche partitioning, the evolutionary relationship between form, function and disparity, rates of functional evolution and the influence of constraints on morphological evolution.

The Upright Battle: Morphological Trends of the Bipedal Pelvis

TL;DR: The Upright Battle: Morphological Trends of the Bipedal Pelvis as discussed by the authors is an excellent overview of the evolution of the bipedal pelvic anatomy. But it is not a complete study.

Fracture Fixation Technique and Chewing Side Impact Jaw Mechanics in Mandible Fracture Repair

TL;DR: This study is the first to use realistic in silico simulation of chewing to quantify the effects of Champy and biplanar techniques of angle fracture fixation, and shows that more rigid, biPlanar fixation results in lower strain magnitudes in the miniplates, the bone around the screws, and in the fracture zone.

The elastic and ultimate properties of compact bone tissue

TL;DR: The use of a tranversely isotropic model is tested for the elastic behavior of bovine and human bone and the five independent constants of this model are determined.
