Evaluation of Hyperspectral Reflectance Parameters to Assess the Leaf Water Content in Soybean
TL;DR: In this article, four gravimetrical approaches of leaf water content assessment were used: relative water content (RWC), foliar water content as percent of total fresh mass (FWCt) and equivalent water thickness (EWT), and the highest positive correlations were observed for the relations between the photochemical reflectance index (PRI) and EWT (rP = 0.860).

Empirical Prediction of Leaf Area Index (LAI) of Endangered Tree Species in Intact and Fragmented Indigenous Forests Ecosystems Using WorldView-2 Data and Two Robust Machine Learning Algorithms
TL;DR: It is concluded that the successful application of the WV-2 data, SVM and ANN methods in predicting LAI of six endangered tree species in the Dukuduku indigenous forest could help in making informed decisions and policies regarding management, protection and conservation of these endangered treespecies.

Feasibility of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Optical Imagery for Early Detection and Severity Assessment of Late Blight in Potato
Marston Héracles Domingues Franceschini,Harm Bartholomeus,Dirk van Apeldoorn,Juha Suomalainen,Lammert Kooistra +4 more
TL;DR: Evaluation of the sensitivity of the data acquired regarding early changes in crop traits related to disease incidence using sub-decimeter UAV optical imagery indicates that UAV data allowed identification of patterns comparable to those described by ground-based images, despite some differences concerning the distribution of affected areas detected within the sampling units and an attenuation in the signal measured.

A soil-adjusted vegetation index (SAVI)
TL;DR: In this article, a transformation technique was presented to minimize soil brightness influences from spectral vegetation indices involving red and near-infrared (NIR) wavelengths, which nearly eliminated soil-induced variations in vegetation indices.

PROSPECT: A model of leaf optical properties spectra
TL;DR: In this paper, a radiative transfer model based on Allen's generalized plate model is proposed to represent the optical properties of plant leaves from 400 nm to 2500 nm, where spectral refractive index (n) and a parameter characterizing the leaf mesophyll structure (N) are used.
