TLDR
In this article, an eddy viscosity model for wave and current is proposed in order to close the equations of wave motion or of current motion in a combined flow, respectively, and equations of mud transport are derived based on the visco-elastic properties of mud.

Tidal resuspension and transport processes of fine sediment within the river plume in the partially-mixed Changjiang River estuary, China: A personal perspective

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors summarized process-oriented field and numerical studies undertaken on the river plume in the partially-mixed Changjiang River estuary and revealed two important physical processes by acoustic imaging, i.e., the near-bed impulsive resuspension and the transport processes driven by fine sediment induced plumes during a spring tide.

Morphodynamic responses to the deep water harbor development in the Caofeidian sea area, China's Bohai Bay

TL;DR: Based on the characteristics of waves, tidal currents, sediment and seabed evolution, a 2D mathematical model for sediment transport under influence of waves and tidal currents is developed to study the development schemes of the Caofeidian Harbor.

An experimental and numerical investigation on wave-mud interactions

TL;DR: In this paper, the wave attenuation over a mud (kaolinite) layer is investigated via laboratory experiments and numerical modeling, and the measured shear rate and rheological data allow us to back-calculate the time-dependent viscosity of the mud layer under various wave loadings.

The combined effect of wave–current interaction and mud-induced damping on nonlinear wave evolution

TL;DR: In this paper, a phase-resolving nonlinear frequency-domain model with both wave-current interaction and viscous mud-induced energy dissipation is discussed, and the model is compared to dissipation rates deduced from experimental data, with favorable results.

Mass transport in water waves

TL;DR: In this article, a general theory of mass transport is developed, which takes account of the viscosity, and leads to results in agreement with observation, and is shown that the nature of the motion in the interior depends upon the ratio of the wave amplitude a to the thickness δ of the boundary layer.

On the response of a poro-elastic bed to water waves

TL;DR: In this article, the problem of the response of a porous elastic bed to water waves is treated analytically on the basis of the three-dimensional consolidation theory of Biot (1941).

- 01 Dec 1978 -
TL;DR: In this article, a general theory for the pore pressures and effective stresses induced in a porous bed by ocean waves is developed, where pore fluid as well as the soil skeleton are considered compressible.
