Kenaf bast cellulosic fibers hierarchy: a comprehensive approach from micro to nano.

Applied procedures successfully isolated nanoscale cellulosic fibers from both unbleached and bleached pulps and chemical composition analysis and FTIR spectroscopy showed that lignin and hemicellulose were almost entirely removed by the applied treatments.

Isolation and characterization of nanofibers from agricultural residues: wheat straw and soy hulls.

TL;DR: After mechanical treatments of cryocrushing, disintegration and defibrillation, the thermal properties of the nanofibers were studied by the TGA technique and found to increase dramatically and is reasonably promising for the use of these nanofiber types in reinforced-polymer manufacturing.
