TLDR
In this paper, the superelastic motion of twin boundaries in the martensitic phase of Ni2MnGa with magnetic fields of 8 kOe applied at 265 K was found to be associated with the staining.Abstract:
Strains of nearly 0.2% have been induced along [001] in unstressed crystals of Ni2MnGa with magnetic fields of 8 kOe applied at 265 K. These stains are associated with the superelastic motion of twin boundaries in the martensitic phase that is stable below about 274 K.read more

Design optimisation of shape memory alloy linear actuator applications
TL;DR: Shape memory alloy actuators have drawn much attention and interest in recent decades due to their unique properties; and, are expected to be increasingly integrated within commercial automotive applications as mentioned in this paper. But, their performance may not be as good as other actuators.

Controlling twin variant configuration in a constrained Ni–Mn–Ga sample using local magnetic fields
TL;DR: In this article, it is shown that local twinning can be created at a specific location with the use of a focused magnetic field in a constrained Ni-Mn-Ga sample.

A Ginzburg-Landau Theory For Ni-Mn-Ga
TL;DR: In this article, an effective Ginzburg-Landau theory for ferromagnetic cubic Ni-Mn-Ga was presented, in which structural and magnetic phase transitions took place, and the general problem of a cubic ferromagnet was taken into account by fitting the parameters of the Ginzberg-landau functional to experimental data.

Magnetic properties of the Mn 1.9 − x Co x Ge compounds with a hexagonal crystal structure
TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic properties of hexagonal Ni2In compounds with a hexagonal crystal structure have been studied and the experimental data obtained are discussed taking into account the results of energy-band electronic-structure calculations.

Structural and magnetic phase transitions in Ni-Mn-Ga ferromagnetic shape-memory crystals
TL;DR: In this paper, the growth and characterization of Ni-Mn-Ga ferromagnetic shape-memory alloys (FSMA) were studied using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and DC magnetization measurements.

Ferromagnetic materials
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors restrict their attention to the ferrites and a few other closely related materials, which are more closely related to anti-ferromagnetic substances than they are to ferromagnetics in which the magnetization results from the parallel alignment of all the magnetic moments present.
