Survey of the literature on mechanoluminescence from 1605 to 2013.

TL;DR: A survey of the literature on mechanoluminescence from 1605 to 2013 is reported, finding that the field has a great potential for use in different types of mechano-optical devices such as stress sensors, damage sensors, impact sensors, fracture sensors and safety management monitoring systems.

Mechanics-induced triple-mode anticounterfeiting and moving tactile sensing by simultaneously utilizing instantaneous and persistent mechanoluminescence

TL;DR: In this paper, a triplemode anticounterfeiting device was proposed for tactile sensing with both transient and persistent mechanoluminescence for Y3Al5O12:Ce3+ and Ba0.5Sr 0.5Si2O2N2:Eu2+, respectively.

Optical properties of manganese-doped nanocrystals of ZnS.

TL;DR: Luminescent measurements show that the efficiency increases with decreasing size of the particles, as expected within the framework of an electron-hole localization theory, suggesting that doped nanocrystals are indeed a new class of materials heretofore unknown.

Thermoluminescence of Solids

TL;DR: In this paper, theoretical background and additional factors governing thermoluminescence are discussed. But the authors focus on the geology applications and do not address the effect of temperature variations on the properties of the thermoluminant.

Synthesis and applications of silver nanoparticles

TL;DR: A review of different methods of preparation of silver nanoparticles and application of these nanoparticles in different fields can be found in this paper, where the authors show that the electromagnetic, optical and catalytic properties of nanoparticles are strongly influenced by shape, size and size distribution.
