Melting of nanoparticles-enhanced phase-change materials in an enclosure: Effect of hybrid nanoparticles

TLDR
In this article, the melting of nanoparticles-enhanced phase-change materials (NEPCM) in a square cavity using the finite element method is studied. And the authors have shown the consistency of the liquid-solid phase progress with the available experimental results, i.e. the melting process expedites when the enhancement in the thermal conductivity is much greater than the enhancement of the dynamic viscosity.

Conjugate natural convection flow of Ag–MgO/water hybrid nanofluid in a square cavity

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the variation of key parameters, such as the volume fraction of nanoparticles, Rayleigh number, and the ratio between thermal conductivity of the wall and the thermal conductivities of the hybrid nanofluid (Rk), is studied.

Mixed convection flow caused by an oscillating cylinder in a square cavity filled with Cu–Al2O3/water hybrid nanofluid

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the effects of Al2O3/water hybrid nanofluid on the mixed convection inside a square cavity caused by a hot oscillating cylinder and found that the motion of the cylinder toward the top and bottom walls increases the average Nusselt number when the Rayleigh number is low.

Conjugate solid-liquid phase change heat transfer in heatsink filled with phase change material-metal foam

TL;DR: In this article, the conjugate flow and heat transfer of phase change materials (PCMs)-metal foam confined between two annuli is addressed, where a pulse heat load is employed at the inner surface of annuli, while the outer surface is subject to convection cooling.

A review of materials, heat transfer and phase change problem formulation for latent heat thermal energy storage systems (LHTESS)

TL;DR: In this paper, the phase change problem has been formulated using pure conduction approach but the problem has moved to a different level of complexity with added convection in the melt being accounted for, which makes it difficult for comparison to be made to assess the suitability of PCMs to particular applications.
