Middle Paleozoic convergent orogenic belts in western Inner Mongolia (China): framework, kinematics, geochronology and implications for tectonic evolution of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt

TLDR
Based mainly on field geological observation and geochronologic data, six tectonic units have been recognized in western Inner Mongolia (China), including, from south to north: North China Craton (NCC), Southern Orogenic Belt (SOB), Hunshandake Block (HB), Northern Orogenics Belt (NOB), South Mongolia microcontinent (SMM), and Southern margin of Ergun Block (SME), suggesting that the Tectonic framework of the CAOB is characterized by an accretion of different blocks and orogenic belts RE

Timing of deformation and location of the eastern Liaoyuan Terrane, NE China: Constraints on the final closure time of the Paleo-Asian Ocean

TL;DR: In this paper, structural data, zircon U-Pb age dating, and Hf isotopic data were used to constrain the kinematics and timing of deformation, and the southern boundary of the eastern LT in relation to the NE-SW-striking Yilan-Yitong Fault (YYF), one of two branches of the continental-scale Tan-Lu Fault Zone in NE China.

Geochemistry and zircon U-Pb-Hf isotopes of the granitoids of Baolidao and Halatu plutons in Sonidzuoqi area, Inner Mongolia: Implications for petrogenesis and geodynamic setting

TL;DR: The Baolidao and Halatu plutons are located in the Northern Orogenic Belt (NOB) in Sonidzuoqi area of Inner Mongolia, which has an important significance for the tectonic evolution as mentioned in this paper.

Geochronology and geochemistry of Permian to Early Triassic granitoids in the Alxa Terrane: Constraints on the final closure of the Paleo-Asian Ocean

TL;DR: In this article, the authors carried out petrological, whole-rock geochemical, and zircon U-Pb-Hf isotope investigations on four major granitic plutonic complexes in the Alxa Terrane.

Late Devonian to early Carboniferous arc-related magmatism in the Baolidao arc, Inner Mongolia, China: Significance for southward accretion of the eastern Central Asian orogenic belt

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a systematic study of the petrology, whole-rock geochemistry, and geochronology of an amphibolite and an epidote amphibolites from the Xilingol complex.

Tectonic significance and geodynamic processes of large-scale Early Cretaceous granitoid magmatic events in the Southern Great Xing'an Range, North China

TL;DR: In this paper, a suite of dioritic-granitic rocks from central Inner Mongolia has been reported to have a peak activity at 130-120˚Ma, and the authors propose a deep-sourced water-fluxed melting scenario by ancient hydrous slabs inherited from the Paleo-Asian Ocean that were trapped in the deep interior, thus releasing aqueous fluids to produce water-rich mafic magmas.

Chemical and isotopic systematics of oceanic basalt : implications for mantle composition and processes

S. S. Sun
TL;DR: In this article, trace-element data for mid-ocean ridge basalts and ocean island basalts are used to formulate chemical systematics for oceanic basalts, interpreted in terms of partial-melting conditions, variations in residual mineralogy, involvement of subducted sediment, recycling of oceanic lithosphere and processes within the low velocity zone.

Trace element discrimination diagrams for the tectonic interpretation of granitic rocks

TL;DR: In this article, a data bank containing over 600 high quality trace element analyses of granites from known settings was used to demonstrate using ORG-normalized geochemical patterns and element-SiO2 plots that most of these granite groups exhibit distinctive trace element characteristics.
