Journal ArticleDOI

Methods to Explore Cellular Uptake of Ruthenium Complexes

TL;DR: The cellular uptake of a series of dipyridophenazine (dppz) complexes of Ru(II) was examined by flow cytometry and appears to be facilitated by the lipophilic 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (DIP) ligand.

Synthesis and study of a mixed-ligand ruthenium(II) complex in its ground and excited states: bis(2,2′-bipyridine)(dipyrido[3,2-a : 2′,3′-c]phenazine-N4N5)ruthenium(II)

TL;DR: The ruthenium (II) complex [Ru(bipy)2(dppz)]2+ was synthesized, characterized, and studied in this article, where the authors obtained excited-state absorption spectra for [Ru-(bipyl)-bipyridine, dipyrido[3,2-a : 2′,3′-c]phenazine.

Mononuclear and Binuclear Tetrapyrido[3,2-a:2‘,3‘-c:3‘‘,2‘‘-h:2‘‘‘,3‘‘‘-j]phenazine (tpphz) Ruthenium and Osmium Complexes

TL;DR: In this article, the monometallic complexes (bpy 2Ru(tpphz)Ru(NH3)4]4] 4+ (6) and bpy 2 Ru(Tpphz)-TppH 2+ (5) were obtained by reaction of 5,6-diamino-1,10-phenanthroline with [(bpy)2M(phendione)]2+ (M = RuII or OsII), where tpphz is the poorly soluble fully aromatic tetrapyrido.

Architecture of Supramolecular Metal Complexes for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction: Ruthenium−Rhenium Bi- and Tetranuclear Complexes

TL;DR: The excited state of ruthenium in all Ru-Re complexes was efficiently quenched by 1-benzyl-1,4-dihydronicotinamide (BNAH) and generation of the one-electron-reduced (OER) species, for which the added electron resides on the Ru-bound bpy end of the bridging ligand bpyC3bpy, was confirmed by transient absorption spectroscopy.

The Chemistry of Complexes Containing 2,2′-Bipyridyl, 1, 10-Phenanthroline, or 2,2′,6′,2”-Terpyridyl as Ligands

TL;DR: A review of the metal-to-ligand bonding is given in this article, with an emphasis on the analytical uses of these ligands, such as the synthesis of ring-substituted derivatives of the parent ligands.
