TLDR
In this paper, a method has been developed for quantitative measurement of vegetation conditions over broad regions using ERTS-1 spectral bands 5 and 7, corrected for sun angle, which is shown to be correlated with aboveground green biomass on rangelands.Abstract:
The Great Plains Corridor rangeland project utilizes natural vegetation systems as phenological indicators of seasonal development and climatic effects upon regional growth conditions. A method has been developed for quantitative measurement of vegetation conditions over broad regions using ERTS-1 MSS data. Radiance values recorded in ERTS-1 spectral bands 5 and 7, corrected for sun angle, are used to compute a band ratio parameter which is shown to be correlated with aboveground green biomass on rangelands.read more

Mapping Rural Areas with Widespread Plastic Covered Vineyards Using True Color Aerial Data
TL;DR: In this study an efficient object-based classification procedure from Very High Spatial Resolution (VHSR) true color aerial data was developed on eight test areas located in the Ionian area of the Apulia Region in order to support the updating of the existing land use database aimed at plastic covered vineyard monitoring.

Nature-based solutions for urban landscapes under post-industrialization and globalization: Barcelona versus Shanghai.
TL;DR: Examination of nature‐based solutions in urban settings shows aspiration to become a global or globalizing city motivated both cities to use NBS planning as a place‐making tool to attract global investment, which is reflected in various governing policies and regulations.
