TLDR
In this paper, a method has been developed for quantitative measurement of vegetation conditions over broad regions using ERTS-1 spectral bands 5 and 7, corrected for sun angle, which is shown to be correlated with aboveground green biomass on rangelands.
Abstract
The Great Plains Corridor rangeland project utilizes natural vegetation systems as phenological indicators of seasonal development and climatic effects upon regional growth conditions. A method has been developed for quantitative measurement of vegetation conditions over broad regions using ERTS-1 MSS data. Radiance values recorded in ERTS-1 spectral bands 5 and 7, corrected for sun angle, are used to compute a band ratio parameter which is shown to be correlated with aboveground green biomass on rangelands.

Predicting winter wheat condition, grain yield and protein content using multi‐temporal EnviSat‐ASAR and Landsat TM satellite images

TL;DR: In this article, bivariate correlation results based on the linear regression of crop variables against backscatter suggested that the sensitivity of ASAR C-HH backscattered image to crop or soil condition variation depends on growth stage and t...

Field phenotyping of water stress at tree scale by UAV-sensed imagery: New insights for thermal acquisition and calibration

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a methodology for radiometric correction of UAV remotely-sensed thermal images to obtain (combined with visible and near-infrared data) multispectral ortho-mosaics, as a previous step for further image-based assessment of tree response to water stress.

Integration of multi-omics techniques and physiological phenotyping within a holistic phenomics approach to study senescence in model and crop plants.

TL;DR: This review addresses the need for the integration of multi-omics techniques and physiological phenotyping into holistic phenomics approaches to dissect the complex phenomenon of senescence and to elucidate the underlying molecular processes.

Remote monitoring of tamarisk defoliation and evapotranspiration following saltcedar leaf beetle attack

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the potential for using higher spatial resolution Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) data and lower spatial resolution Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) data for monitoring defoliation caused by Diorhabda and subsequent changes in evapotranspiration (ET).
