TLDR
The equivalent noise level seems to be a suitable predictor for subjectively evaluated sleep quality but not for physiological sleep disturbances, where physiological sleep parameters were most severely affected by rail noise.

A study on road traffic noise exposure and prevalence of insomnia

TL;DR: The study reported significant associations between traffic noise exposure and all insomnia-related symptoms, and future research on large populations can help in minimizing the impacts of nocturnal noise on public health.
Journal ArticleDOI

A method of measuring the powertrain noise for the indoor prediction of pass-by noise

TL;DR: The results show that the proposed method not only produces better prediction accuracy than the existing ones, but also has the ability to predict the pass-by noise SPL for a realistic case in an evaluation time of less than one hour.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study and Comparison of the Noise Dose on Workers in a Small Scale Industry in West Bengal, India

TL;DR: In this article, a study and effect of Noise Dose in a small scale manufacturing sheet metal industry situated in West Bengal of India was carried out and different noise related data were taken from individual machine and compare with the different noise-related variables with Leq, Lav, LAE and TWA (Time weighted average).
Journal ArticleDOI

The impact of nocturnal road traffic noise, bedroom window orientation, and work-related stress on subjective sleep quality: results of a cross-sectional study among working women

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of work-related stress and road noise exposure on self-rated sleep and potential additive interaction effects was examined using a single question on general sleep quality and four questions on specific sleep problems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nonstationary vibration responses of a three-dimensional tunnel-soil system excited by moving stochastic loads

TL;DR: In this paper, a semi-analytical model combining an integral transform method with the pseudo-excitation method is proposed to calculate the stochastic responses of the tunnel-soil system.

A Manual of Standardized Terminology, Techniques and Scoring System for Sleep Stages of Human Subjects.

TL;DR: Techniques of recording, scoring, and doubtful records are carefully considered, and Recommendations for abbreviations, types of pictorial representation, order of polygraphic tracings are suggested.

Directive 2003/98/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council

J.E.J. Prins
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present technical prescriptions concerning the design and construction of agricultural or forestry tractors, as regards the rollover protection structures, as well as the approximation of the laws of the Member States to enable the EC typeapproval procedure provided for in Directive 2003/37/EC to be applied in respect of each type of tractor.

Annoyance from transportation noise: Relationships with exposure metrics DNL and DENL and their confidence intervals

TL;DR: Better estimates of the confidence intervals due to the improved model of the relationship between annoyance and noise exposure are provided, which is easier to use for practical calculations than the model itself.
