Optimal Transpiration Boundary Control for Aeroacoustics

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors consider the optimal boundary control of aero-acoustic noise, governed by the two-dimensional unsteady compressible Euler equations, and describe the approaches to meet these challenges and results presented for three model problems.
Book ChapterDOI

Quantified linear programs: a computational study

TL;DR: In a detailed computational study, this work examines, how different structural properties like the number of universal variables, theNumber of universal variable blocks as well as their positions in the QLP influence the solution process.

Route-based dynamic preemption of traffic signals for emergency vehicle operations

TL;DR: In this article, a route-based dynamic preemption strategy was developed for efficient preemption of traffic signals for emergency vehicles in real time, which combines an online route selection module and a sequential dynamic pre-emption strategy, so that traffic queues at the intersections on a given emergency route can be cleared in advance for an emergency vehicle, while minimizing delay because of unnecessary preemption.

Low Discrepancy Initialized Particle Swarm Optimization for Solving Constrained Optimization Problems

TL;DR: The proposed Improved Constraint Particle Swarm Optimization (ICPSO) algorithm is initialized using quasi random Vander Corput sequence and differs from unconstrained PSO algorithm in the phase of updating the position vectors and sorting every generation solutions.

Explicit Multistep Mixed Finite Element Method for RLW Equation

TL;DR: An explicit multistep mixed finite element method is proposed and discussed for regularized long wave (RLW) equation and the optimal error estimates in and norms for the scalar unknown and its flux based on time explicitMultistep method are derived.
