Wireless Mesh Networks - Efficient Link Scheduling, Channel Assignment and Network Planning Strategies

In order to simulate gene regulatory oscillators more effectively, Runge-Kutta (RK) integrators are adapted to the limit-cycle structure of the system. Taking into account the oscillatory feature of the gene regulatory oscillators, phase-fitted and amplification-fitted Runge-Kutta (FRK) methods are designed. New FRK methods with phase-fitted and amplification-fitted updated are also considered. The error coefficients and the error constant for each of new FRK methods are obtained. In the numerical simulation of the two-gene regulatory system, the new methods are shown to be more accurate and more efficient than their prototype RK methods in the long-term integration. It is a new discovery that the best fitting frequency not only depends on the problem to be solved, but also depends on the method.

Limit-Cycle-Preserving Simulation of Gene Regulatory Oscillators

The pervasiveness of GPS devices enables tourists recording their trajectories and uploading geo-tagged photos. Geo-related data has emerged as new source for travelers to refer to when making tourism decisions. As the increasing availability of these user-generated experiences on the social networks, there is a need to automatically discovering useful patterns for potential travelers. In this paper, we propose a tourism path by incorporating the trajectories and geo-photos. Specifically, we provide an algorithm for precisely matching user-uploaded photos to tourism sites and a density based clustering approach to identify the place of interests inside tourism sites. We then build a model that adapts the well-known HITS algorithm to detect interesting points and trajectories with high utility scores and design an algorithm for efficiently computing rational routes for visiting tourism sites. Finally, experimental results illustrate the advantage of the proposed density-based algorithm and confirm the effectiveness applicability of our tourism path discovering approach.

Generating tourism path from trajectories and geo-photos

In this study, three Genetic Algorithms (GAs) are applied to the Three-dimensional Multi-pipe Routing problem. A Standard GA, an Incremental GA, and a Coevolutionary GA are compared. Variable length pipelines are built by letting a virtual robot move in space according to evolved, fixed length command lines and allocate pipe segments along its route. A relative and an absolute encoding of the command lines are compared. Experiments on three proposed benchmark problems show that the GAs taking advantage of the natural problem decomposition; Coevolutionary GA, and Incremental GA outperform Standard GA, and that the relative encoding works better than the absolute encoding. The methods, the results, and the relevant parameter settings are discussed.

Evolutionary approaches to the three-dimensional multi-pipe routing problem: a comparative study using direct encodings

This paper discusses spectral and spectral element methods with Legendre-Gauss-Lobatto nodal basis for general 2nd-order elliptic eigenvalue problems. The special work of this paper is as follows. (1) We prove a priori and a posteriori error estimates for spectral and spectral element methods. (2) We compare between spectral methods, spectral element methods, finite element methods and their derived -version, -version, and -version methods from accuracy, degree of freedom, and stability and verify that spectral methods and spectral element methods are highly efficient computational methods.
