Probabilistic boosting trees for automatic bone removal from CT angiography images
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed to automatically segment bones using a trainable classifier to label image patches as bone or background, which was achieved by using a probabilistic boosting tree, which is capable of automatically decomposing the input space.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular Dynamics and Metadynamics Simulations of the Cellulase Cel48F.
TL;DR: The present results can be a guideline in mutagenesis studies to improve processing by Cel48F.
Journal ArticleDOI
A New Linearized Crank-Nicolson Mixed Element Scheme for the Extended Fisher-Kolmogorov Equation
TL;DR: A new mixed finite element method for solving the extended Fisher-Kolmogorov (EFK) equation and proves some a priori bounds for the solution for semidiscrete scheme and derive a fully discrete mixed scheme based on a linearized Crank-Nicolson method.
Journal ArticleDOI
A decomposition approach for solving a broadcast domination network design problem
Siqian Shen,J. Cole Smith +1 more
TL;DR: This work proposes a decomposition strategy, which iteratively adds valid inequalities based on optimal broadcast domination solutions corresponding to the first-stage network design solutions, and demonstrates that this approach is computationally far superior to the solution of a single large-scale mixed-integer programming formulation.

Making Fisher Discriminant Analysis Scalable
TL;DR: This paper develops a new two-stage algorithm that takes LDA/QR as its special case, and out-performs PCA+LDA while having a similar scalability, and generalizes the algorithm to kernel discriminant analysis, a nonlinear version of the classical LDA.
