Abstract
A measure for objectively assessing the pixel level fusion performance is defined. The proposed metric reflects the quality of visual information obtained from the fusion of input images and can be used to compare the performance of different image fusion algorithms. Experimental results clearly indicate that this metric is perceptually meaningful.

Area level fusion of Multi-focused Images using Multi-Stationary Wavelet Packet Transform

TL;DR: The Multi-Wavelet Transform of image signals produces a non-redundant image representation, which provides better spatial and spectral localization of image formation than discrete wavelet transform.

Extraction of well-exposed pixels for image fusion with a sub-banding technique for high dynamic range images

TL;DR: A new method for image fusion with sub-band architecture for fusing the multiple-exposure images of natural scenes by transforming the pixel-based enhancement in the image using Dynamic Refined Adaptive Weight (DRAW) map is presented.

Remote sensing image fusion method based on discrete wavelet and multiscale morphological transform in the IHS color space

TL;DR: The results have proved that the proposed remote sensing image fusion method not only fully preserves the spectral information of the source MS image but also inherits the rich spatial details of thesource PAN image while, achieves high efficiency in image fusion.

Multisensor image fusion using the wavelet transform

TL;DR: In this article, an image fusion scheme based on the wavelet transform is presented, where wavelet transforms of the input images are appropriately combined, and the new image is obtained by taking the inverse wavelet transformation of the fused wavelet coefficients.
